In a heartwarming announcement, Eboni K. Williams, former star of "Real Housewives of New York City," revealed the birth of her daughter, Liberty Alexandria Williams, via Instagram. The baby girl was born in August 2024, marking a significant milestone in Williams' life and advocating for the "Single Mother by Choice" (SMBC) movement.

"Liberty Alexandria Williams," Williams shared under a series of tender photos, "was born in New York City in August 2024. Forevermore, I’m changed. I’m responsible for ensuring her well being and that Liberty enhances the spaces she occupies. This little girl has been born into significant privilege. Thus, she holds significant responsibility."

Williams' poignant words continued, referencing the celebrated author Toni Morrison, "As her ancestor, Toni Morrison tasked her… Since she has been born free, her birth assignment is to now free somebody else." Williams revealed that she named her daughter after the Statue of Liberty, a tribute to newly freed Black Americans, emphasizing the historical significance and the divine timing of Liberty's arrival.

In June, Williams first disclosed her pregnancy, which marked a pivotal chapter in her journey to motherhood. She previously shared her decision to use her frozen eggs and undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) with a sperm donor, highlighting the extensive emotional and physical investment of the process. "Anybody who's gone through IVF or attempted IVF will tell you so many things have to go right for the final result of this journey to be a baby," Williams told PEOPLE. "That's why I've called this 'my remarkable miracle,' because it really does feel like I've been the recipient of some very enormous favor from God above."

Williams' path to motherhood began with an egg retrieval at the age of 34, without a clear intention of when she would use the eggs. Six years later, that single retrieval resulted in one genetically normal embryo, leading to one successful embryo transfer, and ultimately, her healthy baby girl. "It really does feel like fate," the 40-year-old remarked.

Eboni K. Williams has now become a prominent voice for the SMBC movement. On her podcast, she delves into her journey through the legal and emotional complexities of choosing to be a single mother. She discusses every considered decision, legal implications, and the meticulous process of selecting a donor, offering a candid perspective on the challenges and triumphs of SMBC.

Her advocacy for single motherhood by choice is not just a personal narrative but a broader statement encouraging successful women to embrace the power of intentional motherhood. Williams' story inspires many women contemplating motherhood on their terms, demonstrating that with determination, support, and faith, remarkable miracles are possible.
